Nehemiah 7:28 The men of Bethazmaveth, forty and two

Azmaveth means “strong as death” or “strong unto death” …It was Solomon who said concerning love …

Son_8:6 Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame.

God so loved us that He gave His son to die … there is a love that is so strong …it is as death …. There is also a love that causes jealousy and destruction. Choose the love of Christ …this love will remove all bitterness, jealousy and hurts. This love seeks only good and thinks and imagines no evil against another. There are times when we must bear great sacrifices because we love God …there are occasions when we must close certain chapters because we love God. But in God there is a glorious resurrection…there is a tomorrow of hope …there is a glorious eternity.

It is only in God that we can find resurrection … so to die daily to our flesh is not so hopeless a venture. Reflect on the love of God, and let it motivate you to lead and shine for Him in a way and manner that is different …peculiar …like Christ who led His disciples and died only to live forever. When our selfish agenda die, when our fleshly and carnal competitive ways die, then we will see the resurrection of a different kind of leader …God’s chosen instruments to reflect His love to a people who need to experience it.

Thoughts for Business and the work place
The greatest and strongest motivation for any concept, project or idea is the love of God that manifests in love for others.

Suggestions for Prayer
Lord, help me to die daily to self and be awake to your will and ways. Amen

Psa 78:67 Moreover he refused the tabernacle of Joseph, and chose not the tribe of Ephraim: 68 But chose the tribe of Judah, the mount Zion which he loved.

During the allocation of the land to the various tribes of Israel, all gathered at Shiloh and set up the tent of meeting or tabernacle (Joshua 18:1), which is also called the house of God in Joshua 18:31. Joshua being an Ephraimite, this is also called the tabernacle of Joseph. But what happened to it. Many years later, the Israelites in the time of Eli decided to take the ark of the covenant down to the battle field near the coastal plain. The Philistines defeated the Israelites on that occasion and captured the ark of the covenant. The ark never returned to Shiloh. Eventually, after the Philistines sent it back to the Israelites, David took it to Jerusalem.

Jer 7:12 But go ye now unto my place which was in Shiloh, where I set my name at the first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of my people Israel.

The ark was taken by David to a place called Kiriath Jearim belonging to the tribe of Judah and later moved by David of the same tribe of Judah to Mount Zion. Christ came as the Lion of Judah. It is good to remember that it is God who chooses and not man. God sees the end from the beginning when He chose us. It is also God who refuses and not man. If you are still in Christ – rejoice you are the choice of God who said ;

Joh 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

We are a chosen generation. We are not accidents but chosen and foreknown to be His children in the dispensation of grace. The one who has chosen reveals what He has chosen us for. To go and bring forth fruit. That the fruit may remain and so we may have whatsoever we ask in the name of Jesus. We are not chosen to lack or to be barren. Nor are we chosen to have nothing to show as fruit. God needs us to know that we did not choose God, rather it was the other way round. Similarly, it is God who will refuse and reject us – when we stray from His statutes and ways …even long before we think we have abandoned Him. He is God. Eli the priest miscalculated thinking God was still going to fight for Israel even when they were in terrible sin and the temple was being defiled …but the glory had long departed. Be careful. Do not fool with God. He has chosen Christ, the truth, the way and the life …the Lion of the Tribe of Judah. It is in His name and not in the name of Joseph, Ephraim or any other name that we may ask knowing we shall surely receive. Come to Jesus and live. The Lion of Judah.

Fairest Lord Jesus, Ruler of all nature, O Thou of God and man the Son,
Thee will I cherish, Thee will I honor, Thou, my soul’s glory, joy and crown.

Fair are the meadows, fairer still the woodlands, Robed in the blooming garb of spring;
Jesus is fairer, Jesus is purer, Who makes the woeful heart to sing

Prayer: Lord, Lion Of Judah – reign forever in me. Amen
