How do you work? Nehemiah uses the word “we” …meaning he was part of the work. Nehemiah worked with them until it became too dark to work. They did not abandon the work nor were they slothful. Nehemiah did no assign work and go home as others did the work. He was with them … laboring until the stars appeared. When did they start …we are told early in the morning.
When do you get up in the morning you laggard. Nehemiah got up early and worked till he could see the stars …over 12 hours of work …what an example. Be an example of industry and a good labour. The work was continuous even as people did different things …roles were carefully assigned and each knew his part. None went home until the stars were up. Observe God’s pattern for greatness …it is not a seven hour day. Leaders must demonstrate the ethic of hard work and long hours of industry with others in the team. Let the team observe the leader’s work style and note the hours that he or she puts in.
Pro 6:6 Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: 7 Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, 8 Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest. 9 How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep?
Greatness is not accidental …the work must be done and done well.

Thoughts for Business and the work place
Leaders know that following up is not easy …but they have made hard work a habit and have an instinct to follow up with disciplined fervor.

As Nehemiah’s wall was built, so will we see a reconstruction in all that may appear in distress and in waste. Nehemiah trusted and feared God, putting his faith in the Almighty whose strength is limitless to exceed all our expectations. I am praying someone with a burden to be used by God in building will receive a fresh vision and get the job done.
