Jesus gives me Victory (Prophetic Hymn)

The fires could not burn me
Instead Jesus raised me
Jehovah Sabaoth
He helped me through it all
The fires could not burn me
Jesus gives me victory

The floods could not drown me
Instead Jesus raised me
The Lord of Heaven and Earth
He helped me through it all
The floods could not drown me
His mercy gives me victory

The winds could not stop me
Instead Jesus raised me
Winds and waves obeyed Him
He helped me through it all
The winds could not stop me
Jesus gives me victory

Victory at last all defeat is past
By the blood of the Lamb – Satan’s hosts down cast
No power on earth can ever hold me down
I have victory …sure victory at last.
His name is Jesus
He helped me through it all
The Lion could not hurt me
The Bear could not devour me
Goliath could not defeat me
Jesus gives me victory

Sin no more stains me
Above Sin He raised me
On the Cross of Calvary.
Shed His blood so I am free.
Sin no more stains me
Jesus gives me Victory
Thank you Jesus for your mercy and kindness.

Principles of Worship – It is well with you

There are illustrations in the word of God that help us understand worship and related principles.  There is also a correlation between true worship and our wholeness. One of my favourite texts on worship is Matthew 15:21-28

Matthew 15[21]  Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon. [22]  And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil. [23]  But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us. [24]  But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. [25]  Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. [26]  But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs. [27]  And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table. [28]  Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

Note some important elements in this text.  It was well for this worshipper…for you it shall be well – even as you observe some of the principles. I thank God Christ used a woman as in those days women were not accorded much respect. Worship looks at the heart and is no respecter of gender. It shall be well with you.  Amen

1.  Her demeaning and low estate was an advantage for her. Her past was bad. In spite of this – all was well for her as she worshipped. Often, what we consider to be an edge either in human reputation or status is often an obstacle to finding the humble state that releases the anointing for wellness.  Many are not well for they are too full … what they need is an extended emptying first.  Humility (Samuel Rutherford) once said grows best in depressed circumstance and winter seasons…so value these seasons. She comes not in frustration or in bitterness, unqualified … with no right to speak to Christ. Her preparation – in her humiliation – helped her worship. Humility is key.

2.  This woman was insulted and treated and addressed harshly. Jesus was told to send her away in her presence (a most painful rejection) and called a dog.  Her refusal to be offended immediately glorified God.  She did not require an apology or protest the insult. God must sometimes position us in circumstances that are not just unfair but outright unbearable to establish and proclaim the real sense of worth we have of God  (not just what we sing).  If we believe God is who He is, then we will always honour Him with joyful obedience even in those inconvenient scenarios and in what we perceive as “unfair” and outright insulting situations which seem to tag us as mere dogs.  God is uncommonly glorified in this. Our songs declare God is more than enough, sufficient and a great comfort and provider. But does our life and reactions say this?

3.  She did not disdain God’s crumbs.  Her prepared heart showed such a high sense of God as she established that even crumbs with God are more than a rich buffet without Him.  The presence of God makes every lack, unfair or tough circumstance immediately irrelevant as God expands us. The glory outshines the most impressive palaces and gains.

4.  The disciples had no clue.  Let us not presume to imagine titles and proximity to the things of God imply we enter into truth.  Familiarity often breeds error and outright heresy.  We must always be cautious waking up each day like “novices” in need of illumination otherwise … “old” workers who have heard it all, will only find themselves sending away those God intends to touch.  The disciples, the co-leaders with Jesus got nothing nor did they worship. God help all of us “song leaders” and “pastors” for many walk in a pride and familiarity with God that has caused many to remain in a leprous state. Perhaps only those that can still be treated by God as “dogs” and be joyful with  God’s “crumbs” will have all delays removed immediately. God is moved by hunger and thirsting for His glory and not impressive qualifications, titles and achievements. Hungry people will appreciate even divine crumbs and leftovers from God and will value the glory even if it will be found in the desert.

5.  This Canaanite woman worshipped – she did not mind how she was treated – she was easy to correct – accepting the unflattering verdicts of Jesus Christ concerning her…and still remained meek, loyal and faithful to honor God…not bitter at the tough words …She kept her focus on Christ always through her tests…another attribute of true worship.  The result is that all delays to her healing was removed…and that very hour. All was well with her.  All previous delays to forgiveness and healing disappeared – they will all disappear for you. The crumbs of God are powerful. Just continue to worship Him. God will find you out though you seem unqualified and rejected.  God bless you as you pass your test.

All is well with you as you worship Him. All delays to your wholeness vanish.  Lord, have mercy on us and help us to worship you as you want to be worshipped that your anointing may be released and that it may always remain well with us. Amen
