God is Awesome …the following messages point to His incomparable abilities…He is a great Rock of strength that speaks. When we stand in Him we are to stand firm knowing that we cannot fail. More importantly, there are indeed other rocks…but they do not compare to the Rock of Ages. There is a gulf of difference between their rock and our Rock.
The Rock of Strength
Isaiah 17 Because thou hast forgotten the God of thy salvation, and hast not been mindful of the rock of thy strength, therefore shalt thou plant pleasant plants, and shalt set it with strange slips: In the day shalt thou make thy plant to grow, and in the morning shalt thou make thy seed to flourish: but the harvest shall be a heap in the day of grief and of desperate sorrow. God warns that the cities that forget God or think as though they had other sources of strength will find themselves active in promising enterprise, engaging in ventures that God has not ordained…importing strange ideas and concepts…also able to nurture their confidence in themselves expecting great harvest…but God says the harvest will be a heap… Click for more
The Rock that Speaks
2 Samuel 23 The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was in my tongue. The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God. And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain. Although my house be not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things , and sure: for this is all my salvation, and all my desire, although he make it not to grow. But the sons of Belial shall be all of them as thorns thrust away, because they cannot be taken with hands: But the man that shall touch them must be fenced with iron and the staff of a spear; and they shall be utterly burned with fire in the same place. The Rock is Christ – Jesus and He speaks in agreement with the Trinity. The Holy Spirit, The Father and the Rock are one…the word is one…there is no conflict. We always need the Holy Spirit as an inner witness in alignment with the Father and the Rock. There can be no conflict with the word of God, the utterances by the Spirit of God and the will of the Father.
Other rocks cannot speak…they are only stones…dead stones in all shapes and colours…but dead stones …Click for more
Stand Firm on The Rock
Psalm 40:2 : He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay and set my feet upon a rock and established my steps. Amplified– He drew me up out of a horrible pit of tumult and destruction, out of the miry clay (froth and slime) and set my feet upon a rock, steadying my steps and establishing my goings.
Stand means to remain firm in the same place. Firm means to be secure or socially fixed in place having a solid or compact structure that resist stress or pressure not easily moved or disturbed. Steadfast. Well founded
Psalm 33:11 But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of His heart through all generations. Isaiah 14:24- The Lord of hosts has sworn saying surely as I have thought, so it shall come to pass and as I have purposed, so it shall stand.
The plans and purposes of the Lord are firm, solid and stand forever. We as believers have responsibilities here on earth and more importantly in the kingdom… Click for more
Their rock is not as our Rock
Deuternonomy 32 I said, I would scatter them into corners, I would make the remembrance of them to cease from among men: Were it not that I feared the wrath of the enemy, lest their adversaries should behave themselves strangely, and lest they should say, Our hand is high, and the LORD hath not done all this. For they are a nation void of counsel, neither is there any understanding in them. O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end! How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the LORD had shut them up? For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges. For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah: their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters are bitter: Their wine is the poison of dragons, and the cruel venom of asps. Is not this laid up in store with me, and sealed up among my treasures? To me belongeth vengeance, and recompense; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste. For the LORD shall judge his people, and repent himself for his servants, when he seeth that their power is gone, and there is none shut up, or left. And he shall say, Where are their gods, their rock in whom they trusted, Which did eat the fat of their sacrifices, and drank the wine of their drink offerings? let them rise up and help you, and be your protection.
There is a difference between our Rock and their rock…everyone has a rock they lean on … the world, the devil and the flesh constitute a rock. Similarly we have the Holy Spirit, Jesus and our Father in Heaven – the Rock of ages. Verse 31 goes to the heart of the issue…the rocks are not the same. Their rock is not as our Rock. I appeal to you when people call god…or the gods…or talk about god…the first thing is to establish which god…Click for more
